Like this.... this one is a little easier see sitting on top. This is a place where they are often missed, even with people staring right at it. You have to be sure there's none tucked away up in there. Their body sort of sits in the closed polyps and the legs are out and around the top.

On top of a polyp where they normally sit?

It's not where they "normally" sit per se, it's just a place they can commonly be found... or should I say, it' a place where they are commonly missed.

Lion fish, have you ever seen them in the polyp itself? In your picture, the zoa that is right behind the one with the spider on it. I was seeing them actually inside that lighter area of the stalk. It was freaky.

I haven't seen them inside, no, but I haven't looked either. That's most interesting!

Sometimes they look like a zoa pattern when they are sitting on top like that. They don't come off easily when they are swooshed around in water either.

Hahahah all I saw was that pic and the title and my first thought was "No, that's a polyp" [emoji23]
Silly me!

All I have to say is ... Oh heck no !!
One, of the many, reasons I love the water and inhabitants, is because of the lack of spiders....Now I find out these little buggers are/can be in our aquariums too ??
I never minded spiders growing up, until a brown recluse bit me on the wrist about a year and a half ago and I almost lost my hand from it. Now every time I see one, I get this chill down my spine and I shriek like a little 4 year old girl...:). Ok, maybe not that bad, but they definitely give me the jitters now !
