while I was away something laid some very small white egg clusters on the front glass of my reef tank. Tank inhabitants (as far as I know) are:

(1) clown fish
(1) neon dottyback
(1) springer damsel
(1) Halloween hermit
(1) peppermint shrimp
(1) Nassarius snail
(1) stomatella snail

Anyone have any idea on what it could be. Also is there a way to post video clips here?

Post to YouTube and the share the link

These are nassarius if that helps.

Yes that’s exactly what they look like. Are Nassarius snails able to breed in captivity ? There is only one in the tank so not sure if the eggs would be fertile

Good question. I have around 8 in the tank so am hoping mine hatch. Not many critters can reproduce asexually

I have something in my tank that looks like little white pineapples

I think they can reproduce asexually. Mine last just long enough to get hopeful and then the fish eat them.

I think the fish ate mine. They went transparent and looked like something was growing in them then a few days later they were all gone.

No my fish like caviar too much!!! Never tried moving them maybe that would work.

How benneficial are pineapple sopnges, I have maybe 10-12 in my protein skimmer but only a few on my rock work
