Small white stringy looking coral, sponge??

Just noticed this recently, my tank is on its 3rd week of cycling. Only 1 piece of live rock. Almost looks like a fan or gorgonian type coral to me, but I'm very new to saltwater and can't ID things confidently. Looked it up the best I could and found it may be a sponge? But there is not really a sponge body to it? There is some on top of the Rock that is pretty small and some below the Rock that is decently bigger.

Any help with ID is appreciated

Wish there was more info out there on it, though. Plan to look better later... Thanks so much!
 
Thanks! Do you think it could be an indicator to how strong or weak my flow is currently?
