I find myself always looking at fish that are either too big for my tank, will go godzilla and eat everything in the tank or is a cold water species etc etc...

Does anyone have a recommendation for colorful reef safe fish that will swim confortably in 120 gallons?

dwarf lions are sometimes reef safe if fed well. Mine is in my reef tank and has never messed with the inverts.

On the safe side....There are cardinals, chromis, blennies, fire fish, i mean the list goes on. A good rule of thumb is too look online at fish sites and look at the Recommended tank size and Add about 50% volume. Im sure they lower the numbers so the fish sell more readily.

SO a fish that says 30 gallons may actually need 55 gallons...not 100% accurate, but a quicker answer with pictures is found this way rather than all of us shouting out endless fish that may not even be available in your area.

I think that Live Aquaria does a very good job of listing the recommended tank size for a fish. They even have a section for "nano" fish. Basically all fish that would do well in a 30 gallon tank.
