I was just wondering what the smallest powerhead is. I've got a small 6" cube. Currently the only flow in the tank is from the outflow of an AC20. There's a decent amount of flow, but I feel even in a tank this small that there are some dead spots.

The smallest I've found so far I believe is the Rio 50. But if there is anything smaller, out someone knows of a diy solution to take up the least amount of space possible and still supply some flow, I would appreciate it.

I don't think drilling would be a good idea, it's quite thin, like maybe an 1/8". It's a Marina Cubus tank.

Although, I suppose I could get a small, cheap canister filter and just not put any media in it. I hadn't though of that. Definitely a possibility of I can find one cheap enough.

In my pico, I am running an air pump. It is providing good flow. You could have it open at the end with large bubbles.

I'm really trying to go without air bubbles, but it would be a cheap solution.

I saw that one. It's dimensions are 1.25" x 3.25" x 2.4". The Rio 50 that I found is 2.2" x 1.4" x 1.8". The Rio 50 has a smaller foot print. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I remember seeing someone's diy post, either here or on nano-reef, where they made a very small, maybe u.s. quarter sized magnetic propeller. I think the foot print inside the tank was like 1/4" - 1/2". I haven't been able to find it again though. I'm going to keep looking and see if I can get a hold of the guy and if it's something I can do. If not, I'll probably go the canister filter or Rio 50 route.
