Which is better? I have a JBJ right now but I've heard really good reviews on the Smart ATO. My JBJ seems to stick sometimes and at other times it needs water and doesn't turn on so I'm not sure if the float is bad.

Which do you prefer?

I like my smart ato, but I have never had experience with the jbj ato. I just don't like the ato's with the float switches. They always at some point seem to fail. I just have to clean the glass where the sensors are for my smart ato and it works great.

How often do u have to clean the glass?

What pump are you running on the jbj. Try running it on a larger pump with 1/2 vinyl tubing. Mine has been flawless since I added a faster pump. They only run for a certain amount of time then shut off to protect the pump. You can also take the cover off its pre set to shut off at 3.75 minutes you can change it to 14 min

I'm running an aqua lifter 20 I believe. I think its 1/4" tubing

I have both and can't wait to get rid of the JBJ.

The autosmart..ato is a great unit.

I have had nothing but trouble with the 2 JBJ units I use now.

Yeah I don't like how the float gets stuck every now and then. It almost ran my return chamber dry a few times.
