So I just hooked up my smart buddie RODI booster pump and the pressure gauge is still reading 40 PSI. The pump is definitely running, and I checked all the connections. What gives?

Here's a double-check video for you to go by

Just to toss it on the table...
Is it possible that you may have a bad pressure gauge?

I figured it out! So originally the tube coming out of the sediment filter and carbon blocks went to a tee, one end going to the gauge and the other to the RO membrane. Based on the directions I took the tube from the going to the membrane and stuck it in the first input of the smart Buddie, and from the first output to the RO membrane. So basically the pressure gauge was before the pump... which is why it was reading the same. Thanks anyway!

I am guilty of this exact mistake. Smart buddie product management needs to include better instructions with their product. The one pager was not all that helpful. I had to research videos, then troubleshoot issues one by one.
