Just curious is anyone's ever uses a smart relay as an aquarium controller. I was given a brand new Schneider Electric SR2 B201JD smart relay with 12 inputs and 8 outputs that had been replaced by a different brand of relay at my work. Of course the first thought I had, as is when I get just about anything, is "how can I use this to help my reef tank?"

Has anyone ever set up some basic tank automation with a smart relay? I've been wanting an apex controller, but is not going to be in the budget for quite some time. Since this fell in my lap, I'm tempted to see if I can set something up to control my tank.

No reason why it shouldnt work, its all in the programming and getting the correct sensors as inputs. Basically a smart relay is just a mini Programmable Logic Controller. Do you have the software to program it.
