Have you had good growth with these settings? I have a 30g long with two of these lights and I’m not getting much growth and my gsp has turned brown..

Actually, I have growth mix set-up(SPS and softies) also use Brightwell Amino Acid daily use Tropic Marin All For Reef...I run a lot of blues, not too many whites, and definitely turned off the
Reds... My updated "Sunshine" settings are as follows: A10,B90,C65,D50,E1,F0 Photos taken with filter.

Hey, I’m running 35A, BCD and are at 100 and E is 15 and F is 10.. I think I need to turn them down I believe my gsp is now bleaching

Yeah, two lights at those settings will not make some corals happy. Am I the only one who runs channel A hotter? I think I’m on 60%, maybe 65%? I kinda prefer the 14k look anyway.

Maybe on Channel A, you are buddy, however, it's whatever your preference, and how your corals react to the light is my thought process, to be honest...

Interesting thread on this light. Would 2 be sufficient for a 90 gal 48x18x24? And do they make a mount for inside a canopy?

I think two lights with either T5's or LED bars would do the job. No mount for a canopy, but I'm sure you can use the threaded holes and find some eye hooks or similar.

@telegraham recommends adding 470nm led bars to fatten up the blue spectrum on the Smat Farm lights. That is what I'm doing.

I ordered a 470nm bar from aliexpress, just waiting for it to be delivered. (later this week)

i've skimmed over previous posts, what settings are you using on your smatfarm? do you keep a mixed reef, or?

Yes, mixed reef.

I'm currently running my lights at 10/70/70/70/10/15, but I'm still in the process of ramping them up.

I don't have access to real PAR meter, but using the Photone app on my phone, I'm getting between 650 and 710 PAR at the water surface. (about 8" below my lights) with the current settings.
I have not taken any underwater measurements with it yet though.

I ran some par's on my 2 smat farms over a 36 inch by 12 inch tank at % power 25/75/75/15/15 I am getting pretty uniform lighting of 150 to 185 par 13 inches down. If I crank up blues to 100% par really increases to the 230 to 260 range 13 inches down. lights are about 10 inches off water surface. liking them so far

Why did you turn the reds off? I’m new to reefing, this is my first tank. At the moment I’m just growing softies, should my settings be more like yours or should I change them to something else, I have a 30gallon long tank from innovative marine and I believe it’s a shallow tank

I don't think so -- looks good to me (but I'm a newbie).

Personally, I might have spaced them a little more,,, kinda looks like a hot spot in the middle with lots of shading on the sides but that could just be the pic. (Looks like you basically went for each of the 4 pucks evenly spaced???)

Channel A 14000K Cold White
Channel B 450nm Deep Sea blue+457nm Dark Blue
Channel C 430nm Indigo blue
Channel D 420nm Purple/Violet
Channel E 3000K Warm White
Channel F 500nm Green


There is no RED channels or red LEDs to turn off on the Smat Farm lights.

Channel F is GREEN, not red. Turning channel F down turns green down, not red.

And FYI running these lights at 20/100/100/100/20/60 will get you closest to the AB+ spectrum, per @telegraham . Those are the settings he used for his testing when he measured the spectrum and PAR output at spectrum.

I have two on my 130 and looking to double them. Two on a 90 should work.

Yeah, I ran into an issue with my protein skimmer so that’s why they’re close together like that. The protein skimmer has to fit there or it can go in the slot to the right but then I’ll have to give up the sock filter

What does AB+ spectrum mean? Is that like the perfect balance of everything?

It's based off of EcoTech Marine's version of the 20k Radium halide bulb. At least that's what I've read, but I could be wrong?

Thanks for the info...I've been running green at 15...will bump it up slowly and see the results. I'm currently at 30/100/100/100/15/15
