Pink millepora from RR with an unknown piece from bustayanky. The pink mille is starting to show some yellowish gold polyps under reefbrites only. Pretty neat.

Took down my flow by 40% all over, i think i was skinning this one alive. Starting to make a comeback, i see a little red or pink in polyps near the base on back.

Rolled the dice on this guy for a bill. Hopefully it pulls through. Looked DOA before i took off last week. ALMOST see some yellow but still no polyp extension. Slimes when i feed the tank though :) RR Pink Floyd

Thanks everyone! Its had its ups and downs but seem to be steadily headed in the right direction for now.

Quick update on the RR Pink Floyd. Seems to be making a steady recovery! Very stoked on that. Once it colors up fully I plan to cut a chunk off and take it back to the shop so they can have another go at it. They're a great LFS here in SoCal.

For some reason all the blue skinned pieces i have in my tank arent happy at all, Garf Bonzai, Tricolor Val, and a blue Efllo. I've started to dose K - Balance as i know it can help with blues. Those pieces havent reacted but this piece's color has gotten some nice fullness to it.

Wow. Very nice recovery on the Pink Floyd. Hopefully the tank is going in the right direction.

Has dosing nitrates helped with colours or just makes the corals darker?

What do you feed the fish and corals?

Thanks.

Once i got my nitrates up near the 5 ppm mark the colors became more full. Rather than being pale with hues of accented colors, all colors would be more present. I didn't really have any pieces morph and gain new coloration from it.

Rods reef was my staple food for fish. I fed heavy so it probably feeds coral as well. I dosed pohls amino acids, xtra special, coral vitalizer daily. I felt the xtra special and amino acids combo gave the most results but are very pricey.

I had stopped dosing nitrates and swapped to only running my skimmer through the night. It helped me keep some level of nutrients in the tank and raise my pH throughout the night. I also dosed coral food first thing in the morning and I thought maybe this would help get more out of the supplements. Seemed to work well.

We recently bought our first home (get the keys today actually, woot!) I opted to break down the system and sell/give pieces to reefer buddies. I'm going to have some projects for the next year and didn't want to risk juggling both. I hope to come back to the hobby once settled. Hopefully bigger & better, peninsula style! ;)

any updates on this build?
I had to take this tank down last year and sell it off. We bought our first house and I didn't want risk loosing everything when my focus was on something else. That said, the move went great and I now have a 66g SCA setup that's mostly sps. I plan to upgrade to a 150+ in a year or so.

Do you have a build thread for the 66 gallon?
