I just fired up my tank 4 days ago. I used acid bathed dry rock and well rinsed dry sand. Water was slightly cloudy as expected but its still cloudy. It appears to have a slight smoke haze that can be seen in the water currents. Im using a DIY filter sock. I dosed ammonia to 1ppm and added a shrimp into the sock to start the cycle and added some leftover Bio-spira on day 2. Im using a Gyre XF150 @ 50% on 20 second pulse setting. Skimmer is running and I have some micro bubbles as it has not broken in since being cleaned and stored, however this is more akin to a bacteria bloom but can I see this day 4?? Any ideas about things I should check? Thanks in advance.

Kill the lights and stop adding food. Should clear up quickly like in a few days up to a couple of weeks at the most.

Good call. It cleared up 2 days ago. I've never seen a haze like that in any of my SW tanks after day 1. Must've been bacteria bloom from the Bio-Spira.
