As you can see from this plot, my CO2 scrubbing media lasts about two weeks before it needs to be replaced. The moving average is bouncing around by ~0.2, which causes alkalinity needs to vary as well as other annoying effects. Is there a good strategy for smoothing this curve?

Hi,I had the same trend with co2 scrubbing media. Some use a recirculating setup including the skimmer cap I was lucky to have access to run a line from my skimmer to outside air and I get a very stable ph of 8.2-8.3

You best bet is to get a bigger reactor.

I had the similar problem. At first I used a Phosban 150. It last about 2 weeks. pH dips as it deplete, and rise back up after refill. It took like a week to stable. Then in a week it's all over again.

Later I switched to a Phosban 550. One refill now last two months. pH still dip in the last couple days. But it's one week every two months instead of one week every two weeks. Also I now refill a couple days earlier, so ph didn't drop that low, and only take one day to go back to normal. Losing 2 days are more tolerable in a 2 month period.
