They usually right themselves and carry on. The one near the glass just stopped. The one on the rock was the correct side up. Noticed it was upside down. They have been like this before. Why are they doing this? Were all over the tank at one point and never did this. I have a starfish that lives in the sand and eats all the sand garbage. Did it take all the algea from the snails?There's a hermit in photo #1.
Astraea snails have a strong tendency to fall off of whatever they're climbing on, and are incapable of righting themselves - which leaves them wide open to predation by hermit crabs, who then have an endless supply of shells to move into. I'm not really sure how Astraea survive in the wild, frankly . . .
