Over the past 6 months I have been having my snails releasing sperm on a weekly basis. I started to notice babies about a month in. Now, I have hundreds of not thousands of baby snails throughout the tank. At night I notice some are on corals. I don't see anything dying so I assume they are safe. Are these something I should worry about being a pest in the future? Has anybody ever had snails breed in their tank and actually have hundreds of babies populate the tank?

They haven’t done any harm in my tank however I have a four line that eats some of them - I would add a melanurus wrasse to eat them because they could eventually become a problem if their population gets out of control.

When they get too out of control they start blocking the light to the corals. Just get a wrasse that eats snails and you should be good.

Baby snails can sometimes get into pumps too so make sure to check them and remove any of them you see.

I tend to like baby snails.. self sufficient clean up crews are fantastic.

That's what I was thinking too. My girlfriend is in love with them oddly and always tells me we never have to buy snails again haha
