My camera phone sucks but it looks like chiton I think.

Looks like the underside of a chiton or small limpet to me. Do you have a pic of the shell?

Your photo is too far away to tell, but if it's chiton, you should be able to see the segments. I will state that I've never seen such a white chiton before. From this distance it looks like the opposite color combo of a scutus. @KJ might know.

I have some that are white like that. The shell in unmistakable. Most are covered in purple coralline, though.

The only other thing it could be (if) not a chiton would be a sand skater which from a distance can look similar to a chiton. Pictures for reference
