IMG_0677.JPG I have searched but have failed to find an identification for these small black cone shaped snails that are reproducing at an alarming rate. I believe that they came in on some Chaeto that I purchased from Live Aquaria and shipped out of Florida. Any suggestions on how to control the population?

Almost looks like a Cerith snail can you turn one over for an image please.

Anything that helps control algae is good especially if it was free.

Just pick some of them out and leave the rest.

Lol! Picking out isn't much of an option at this time as it would be much like picking out the pepper in a salt and pepper mix. These snails are micro sized and literally sprinkled throughout the aquarium like pepper.

They are fine. Just leave them be. You can get a certain wrasse and they would eat these snails especially the young ones. But why?

Personally I'd just let them do their thing. Tasty snacks for other critters! My wrasse would tear em up if I xfered him to my macro tank!
