Snail has something growing on it.

Looks like aiptasia to me. Someone else will chime in with a more definitive answer!

That looks like an Aiptasia anemone. I would scrape it off before I put it in the tank

It’s out of the tank now, is it worth chancing after scraping. I’ve done pretty well over the last year to keep away from the dreaded aiptasia

Get the snail to go inside the shell. Tap on him.
Use a syringe with lemon juice or dip a toothbrush in lemon juice and brush the area.
Don't forget to rinse with tank water over the kitchen sink.

Second this. Make sure to keep the shell oriented so the lemon juice isn't going into the shell (although the snail should be closing itself off).
