So I just got 4 Nassarius snails from my LFS and noticed one of them has this hitchhiker on it. It looks like aiptasia but it also looks like a feather duster. I'm not quite sure what it is and I want to know before I put it in my tank. Thanks

Looks like a glass anemone, aka aiptasia

You can simply peel the nem off the shell

Looks like a harmless yet ugly anemone we get in Florida, they attach to hermit crabs or whatever they can. I've had multiple in my tank with no issue, my last one came in on a big hermit from Tampa Bay saltwater... But Aiptasia is the worst so I understand the hesitation but I bet @KJ or reef squad will know for sure

Aiptasia.
