Snail/Hitchhiker

Nubie here, 1st post. Was acclimating this snail(Astraea Turbo Snail?) and noticed a growth that I thought was an egg mass, but then not so much. Algae? Mass is question is the grey/brown/pink looking areas.

Pink: Coralline algae, desirable macroalgae that requires calcium, though it is tough to scrape off glass
Grey: I think these are byrozoans, which are filter-feeders. I never had success with them in my temperate tank.
Brown: just part of the snail's shell

Byrozoans:
