Got this at lfs now I question if should be in my tank I have almost no sand and it has proceeded to bullldoze what little sand I had

I believe this is a babylon snail. They're not aggressive predators but can prey on clams and smaller snails. Some people keep them as cleanup crew, but they can be less reef safe than other CUC due to their taste for clam and small snail

Thanks so not just a terror to my reefscape also my cuc. I’m a pushover at lfs.

Agree on babylon snail and while reef safe will knock frags over and are a bit clumsy but will not bother the coral. They are in essence scavengers

I wouldn't give your LFS too much grief on this one. While they're not PERFECT reef inhabitants, quite a few people keep them as interesting sand dwelling clean up crew. It's something I wouldn't aggressively try to sell to a new reefer, but if they thought it was cool I wouldn't steer them too hard away from it. Can Def work in a reef.

nah I don't blame him it's my responsibility. Just doesn't fit my 54 gallon tank with little sand. I'll try to rehome it.

So maybe I need to rethink these snails on the one hand I don’t like the idea of them eating small snails, knocking over frags, and causing snow storms by bulldozing my fine sand. On the other side 4/5 of my tank bottom is inaccessible and if they stay on the bottom and keep the muck from building up maybe their pros out weigh their cons. They were easy to catch. I’m open to suggestions
