Snail ID. please

Showed up out of nowhere- I hadn't seen a snail in the tank with a red foot before. I never did see it extending a proboscis, so I was thinking that it might be something other than a whelk. Anyone know what species it is?

OK, so if this is a horse conch - I know how large these guys got in Florida and that they are predatory.

I've got two choices I think:

1. Get him out now
2. Let him get to his full 2' size and make some awesome conch fritters

how about let him get a decent size and then sell him? Large Horse Conch are pretty expensive where i am.
