Snail Id Please

Hello all,

Can somebody id that snail? They do reproduce in my tank but they also look predatory.

Looks like a nassarius but could also be a whelk. Does it burrow in the sand or go in the rock? If it doesn’t burrow in the sand, then it’s probably a whelk. I know the whelk has no problem reproducing in a reef tank and they will kill other snails. Another way of telling the difference is the whelk has a pattern on his snout and body, whereas the nassarius is a solid color

Thank you Sparkymarc, after doing more research I think its a whelk. I do not have a sand at the moment, will have it in my new tank so dont know if they burrow. I will try to find them and remove from my current setup.
