Snail ID? thanks

Hi there, sorry for the bad picture. Can anyone ID this snail? 2 popped up months after I’ve added anything new. They seem to like cleaning the glass. They are also growing fast.

If it's a cone, and it does sure look like one, I'd remove it. They're predatory, even going after fish.

Ahhhhh! I have no fish luckily but the thought of something stabbing and killing me is not a good thing.

I don't think it's a cone, looks more like a whelk to me, which are carnivores, and generally not something you want if you have corals or fish. I'd yank it either way. I think you would need a good pic from the bottom to really identify, but just in case it's a cone, maybe not with your hands.

Luckily they haven’t touched the corals (I’ve been watching!) They do move pretty fast and they love hanging out and cleaning the glass.

I'd have to concur. Take them out and place them in a white bowl or clear bowl on a white surface in shallow water. Take photos of them from ALL angles, top, left side, right side, and bottom...

Looks like strombus maculatus to me. If you see it actively cleaning the glass, then it's a strombus (mini conch) or strombus grazer. These are a great addition as they reproduce and do a great job of cleaning. Look for clear egg sacs with tiny white dots, typically 4-5 dots per case.

He got a toothbrush cleaning to get rid of the algae on him. Yes that is what it looks like looking at the pics. I did scrap an egg sack a bit ago like that and wondered where it came from as I have Trochus. Looked like my freshwater ramshorn egg sacks with less eggs. Thanks!
