Can anyone tell me if this snail is reef safe?
It’s growing fast.

It looks like some sort of Whelk IMO, (bad) but until you do get a positive ID you might want to contain it for now.

I tend to agree - whelk-ish, with vague hints of murex.

It's not a species I've seen before - though it's a beautiful snail! - I probably wouldn't trust it. Possibly @Jose Mayo will know where this answer lies. He seems to be very good with these guys.

Yes, it is very reminiscent of the Muricidae family, probably of the genus Muricopsis sp, but it is difficult to accurately identify the species with only one photo incidence. The ideal would be to place the snail on a contrasting background and make the photos in at least 3 incidents: above, below (showing the mouth of the shell) and sideways. For some species a fourth incidence is also important, showing the spiral.
