I was thinking a cowire of some kind or a cone?

is it the shell that you can tell that? I have a small one in mine that looks like that beside the design on the the shell and I was told it was good so I was wondering.

Well there are well over 100 different types of Marginella Snail. The one the OP posted is the most common to find.

Yea, most people banish the unwanted critters to the sump lol. It's better then the alternative..
