I got two of these from the local fish store, I asked for cerith snails and this is what they gave me...

Looks like a Florida Cerith or a nassarius. Can you take a pic from the top side?
 
That is what I thought but to me the shell looks too blunt and usually cerith seem more come shaped, but ofc their is a lot of variance especially once they are this big. Sorry for the crappy pic, next time I see it I'll take it out

Interesting, that does seem pretty spot on. I have yet to see it in the sand tho and it usually hangs out up high on the tops of rocks with the herbivores but it could be finding bits of left over food or something. Also it does not have a visible siphon that is typical of Nassarius Snails however so I don't think it is a Nassarius, but I do appreciate you finding that link for me! If you both think Nassarius I guess the question turns to whether I should be concerned about a Nassarius of this size.
No - ive seen them large. Even a turbo larger than a golf ball
