Found this super tiny snail today, no clue what it is. I only have turbos and trochus snails.

I’m brand new to this, so apologies if this is too easy a question...

Is this a nassarius snail? He is tiny. We found him at the beach last week and brought him home with us. We got him at 3mm and this week he is nearly 6mm (1/4 inch) now, and doubled in size! He spends most of the time buried in the sand, but comes out every now and then, so apologies for the low res picture.

Also, I thought they were supposed to be a good Clean-Up Crew, but everywhere he goes, he leaves a trail of slime or whatever, making my tank look like it’s full of cobwebs. Is this normal, or did I bring the wrong kind of snail home?

Maybe Nassarius, but could also be a predatory whelk.
