I have noticed several of these small snails, mainly they come out at feeding time though they do not appear to be nassarius. Please help identify, as I don't want bad snails getting a foothold!

Nassarius
Whelk has a tattooed snout and a flap on its’ tail whereas nassarius has solid colored tube/snout
In the picture below, the creature on the left is a Nassarius snail, the one on the right is a whelk. Whelks get much larger, while Nassarius don't.
