Snail-like hitchhiker on Turbo

When I got this snail I noticed what seemed to be a hitchhiker on its shell.

it has never moved until today. Today it is very active on the snails shell. Where it has been sitting on the snail for the last month or so is a large redish colored area.

is this causing harm to the snail? A bad hitchhiker?

I’ve never seen it move before, it looks like it has a shell as well possibly?

So should be fine to leave it in it sounds like?
