So I bought this amount of snails when I first set up my tank.
Types I added:
Dwarf Cerith-5
Florida Cerith-3
Dwarf Planaxis-5
Nassarius-3
Nerite-All 3 climbed out of the tank

Did not use live rock to start tank.
I feed 2-3 times a week

My rock and glass is covered in snails. Is there a reason to kill them off? They don't seem to be bothering anything unlike those darn hermits. Just slightly irritate me when I look at my tank. I do seem to be good at having snail tanks..lol my freshwater was that way til I bought my pygmy cories and they eat them.

So if I could get a ID on what type this is..something to worry about that hitched a ride in on a coral or nothing to worry about?

It is mainly the little black ones that have taken over.
They seem to be all black except the pointy end is light coloured.

have you added any corals from florida? or algae/sand ? I was given some algae/sand from a beach in florida.. my inlaws were driving up picked some and brought it to m eand these were in it apparently. this type of snail was prolific to say the least. that being said I never had a problem with algea in the tank.

Nothing added for 6 months or so. Yes for sure no algae problems anymore. Thanks
