I know it may sound crazy but I noticed one of my trochus snails emitting a smoke like substance while grazing on the rockwork. He appears to be in excellent health just wondering what that is. Im guessing he/she is pooping but wondering if any of you out there have any wisdom to impart on a newbie like me.
Thanks

Is this a good thing or should I be concerned?

You should not be concerned. Your water conditions are good enough that the snails want to reproduce. I wouldn't be expecting millions of babies though, but it is good food for everything else in the tank. You may or may not get some babies.

Did you hear Barry White playing? I agree, you have naughty little snails.

Funny! I just came here on a google search because I noticed one of mine doing exactly this! Mines got a massive GHA hat, one of my top nutrient exporters!

Watch till the end, it shoots it out like it's trying to blow smoke rings lol

I’ve noticed this coming from inside my rockwork on occasion and today for the first time saw it come from my trochas snail. I had no idea what it was but I’m glad to know now!!!

OMG I just expedited this for the first time. I’m glad I came here to check first before pulling it out. Now I know, thanks
