I’ve had some Trochus snails for about a month now, I want to remove some rock but one of the Trochus snails has been in a very small area in a small hole in rock I’d like to remove. I have tried to pull him off but I don’t want to hurt it. The other two snails have been running laps around the tank and never stop moving. I’m not sure if this is an issue with the snail or for whatever reason it is extremely happy with this spot. I’ve only seen this behavior since I got back from being out of town a few days ago.
How should I go about removing it?
I’m becoming quite impatient with a snail of all things.

I use a turkey baster to *gently* blast my little margarita snails out of tiny holes when I need to get them out of harms way for whatever reason. If you can reach it with your fingers you can usually carefully work them off without pulling to hard. They usually let go after a second or two in my experience

I wish that were the case, I am on a time crunch for a this project and I have literally been pulling at this guy for 2 days straight from this divot. It’s about the size of a quarter but seems to be the strongest creature in all the ocean.

When u pull, keep the pressure on the shell for 5-10 seconds and it should release. If not pull harder and twist back and forth.
Odd ive never had that issue on rocks only on glass. The suction cup effect.

You are sure he’s alive right? Sounds like his shell might be wedged in the rock and wondering if he went to that great snail place in the sky.

Agreed to all above, is it possible to get a pic? If you give them the chance they will suction down harder if they feel like they are getting pulled off. But still minor force for 5-10 seconds and it should give up

Oh yeah he is alive as of a few minutes ago he has left that spot and now is in another one.
