Hello, Has anyone come across this snail / duster worm ???

At first I thought it was some kind of snail because of the conch, but as you can see in the video it has a feather similar to a feather duster worm
(But on the other hand feather duster worm has no conch...)

I'd be happy if anyone can explain to me what this creature is..

You can put as many as youd like in the tank, within a month they will all be dead though im sad to say. Barnacles almost 100% always die in our tanks, its one part of the environment of the ocean we fail to recreate.

The thing is, I found them on the beach on a piece of wood and I do not want to put it in the tank ...
How is it possible if at all, to take them out of the piece of wood without harming them?

they are pelagic, attached to footing debris and capture plankton in the water wherever the currents take them

the currents and then the waves brought the chunk they are attached to to the beach.

circle of life kind of thing. Unless you get them back well off shore they have come to the end of their journey

You CAN put them in your tank, you would only be doing so for them to die. Ultimately the choice is yours and yours alone. But I would advise against adding anything to the tank just to perish. Not to mention you would have decaying organisms in your tank.

I found this thread in R2R. I personally don’t think adding driftwood is a good idea. I believe it can affect your Ph.
