Does it take a few days for snails to acclimate?

I bought 2 Crown Tops for my tank yesterday and 1 has not moved and the other was on the sand just sitting there this morning. I did check him out and he is alive so I set him on one of my live rocks and now he is hanging on the side at an angle.

Admittedly I know nothing about snail behavior so this may all just be normal...

Diatoms are growing and I want them to eat!

They are eaters so I'm surprised they are just there like that but give them a bit. The Lil boogers will eat!

Did you drip acclimate?

No I didn't drip. I mixed tank water with the water they were in inside a Tupperware bowl prior to adding them. Same thing I did with the 1 other small tronchus in the tank and he's been fine.

I've had snails take a couple of days to get going. I don't think I would worry about it unless they're in the same spot next week.

That's kinda what I was thinking but I have no patience so though I would solicit some feedback. Thanks!

It can be very stressful on inverts if they aren't acclimated slowly. How much of a hit can vary from snail to snail, let alone from species to species. Just like people vary in their responses/tolerance to things, so do they. The Megastraea undosa is a cooler water snail, so the warm waters of our tanks can shock them. Sometimes they recover, sometimes not. Only time will tell. If you have hermit crabs, perhaps you want to protect them in the meantime.

Preciate it. Update with a quick turnaround they are both up and moving around at the moment, maybe a nocturnal thing?

Excellent. Your first post doesn't describe a nocturnal behaviour (which they are though). They were probably a bit shocky.
