Just lost my clownfish. Breaking tank he was in down. Can I move the snails from the old tank to my other tank? He had weird discoloration no one could figure out. Just don’t want to kill the snails for no reason or spread anything

It is possible to transfer stuff with any animal from one system to another. You could leave the system fallow for 11 weeks before moving the system or dip the snails in a coral dip

If you think it could be ich I believe it's lifecycle is up to ~75 days (maximum, could also die off much sooner), so if you want to be extra careful you can wait that out. I'm not familiar with the lifecycle on other parasites but would think it would be under that timeframe for the most part. Personally, if I didn't have a lot of fish or any expensive ones, I would probably wait ~3 weeks myself. I would then put it in a bowl of saltwater (from the new aquarium), scrub the shell down, then add it to the new tank. I would probably dip it as well even though it could kill the snail. If I had any fish similar to a purple/gem tank I probably wouldn't risk it.

It wasn’t ick, but I might just put them in a bowl and scrub. There isn’t many but I don’t want my coral beauty to get sick
