So here is the dilema I added some hermits and emerald crabs to beat algae and they did too good of a job that I had 0 algae for a month then all of my snails died and GHA came back now its horrible and it grows slowly but everywhere on the main rockwork. My tangs and crabs and such can't eat enough of it. Nutrients shouldn't be the problem bc I always registered low even when i had 0. It is really annoying. I know I cannot get snails now but after all of this blows over would getting more turbo snails or would they be a sacrifice to my hermits and emeralds?

you running GFO, chaeto or something to reduce nutrients?
Skimmer and water changes but whenever I beat it just comes back again later. I am all out of snails though would that not be a problem?

What does it do exactly? What happens to the algae does it die or does it just disapear and become nutrients?

You should watch the BRS video all about vibrant, it's really informative. Vibrant is a bottled bacteria that eats algae. After a few weeks of dosing the algae will slowly die and fade away. The bacteria also uses nutrients so you might also find your nitrates falling too low with Vibrant and people fix that by dosing.

The bacteria cannot reproduce in the marine aquarium so they slowly die after you stop dosing them. Some professional aquarists just always dose a small amount to keep the tanks they maintenance clean.

Sounds better than having to replace snails so often. I will look into it.
