Snails Dying Off

I've seen snails die when magnesium gets a bit high (and read somewhere on here that it acts like a sedative to snails at high levels) though I can't say if that was for sure the cause in my case. Maybe male sure your magnesium reading is correct?
Validated the Mg with a Red Sea test kit. That level has been consistent for about a year now.

I don’t think it’s the Magnesium, mine is always 1450 and I have red banded trochius babies among the adults. I also have the tiny Florida cerths, one reg size Florida certh and nine bumblebees, all doing fine.

Trying to find out the cause. Is it possible that my brittle starfish is eating them? Appreciate any help! Thanks!
As far as I know brittle stars only scavenge. It could be a type of pyramid snail that are like parasites to other snails. The pyramid snails are tiny, smaller then a grain of rice.

These are pyramids in the pic. Some snails seem to be more prone to them.

which turbo variety do have? Do you have a picture of shell?

Not the typical shell I see labeled as turbo snail. Looks like a Trochus. Shell too smooth to be Astrea.
Next time you see your snail’s cruise the glass take a close look for those pyramid snails.
