Lately I added 4 turbo snails to my tank, and notice that they flip over pretty often and are getting weaker and weaker. Their is plenty of brown algae on the glass of the tank not brown, so I don’t think it’s algae issue. I took a couple and brought them to the refugium they seem to be doing better their. Any ideas? My calcium is 380 and mag 1410.

Green algae is their food source. Brown is diatoms (astrea and trochus snails)
You can tie/pin down some Nori seaweed to supplement them or freshwater algae tabs.
Do help them flip over as many snails are unable to turn themselves after a fall

How long have you had them? Are you gauging their level of energy based on their activity during the day? Turbo snails are found in cooler waters. From what I've read, they don't last super long in our tanks because we keep them warmer (although I've had one for the last 2 years in my 50 gallon) . Turbo snails are nearly dormant during the day. They come to life at night. Does your sump get a lot of light? If not, this explains why they're more active in it during the day. I bet they'd be hiding if you looked while a fuge light was on.

The sump gets as much light as my tank inverted schedules.

I have the freshwater tabs for my freshwater tanks. I wasn’t sure if they where fine to use in saltwater.

Yes- snails love them

I’m not sure they are diatoms, they are not on my rocks or sand just on the glass of my tank.
Do you have a picture of this substance?

Removes very easily. Magnet cleaner will remove this in seconds
