Snails in a rimless tank

The only snails I have that climb out are nerite snails. I just put them back in at the bottom when I see them out. You could put a screen top on though.

Yea most snails won't leave the water line.
As stated above, you can use egg crate also if your having trouble with the ones you have.

+1, mine stays at the water line, and I do have a screen top but the snails never got beyond the water line. 90% of them stay on my rocks and sand bed. snail clime the glass to graze on algae. Unless your tank is low on oxygen or is very high on nitrates, then they will try to leave the water. Oxygen depletion shouldn't be the case for a rimless tank though.

I don't think I have ever had one crawl out.

Never had any snails Go outside tank. More casualties from jumping fish than curious snails.

Thanks everyone for the reply, maybe I have dumb snails then that need to die? Survival of the fittest.

The reason I ask is that I have a 2 and 5 gallon rimless tank. I introduced the snails and I always find one or two out of the tank the next morning, literally a foot or two away. I pick them back up and put them back in the tank, life goes on.

I am in the process of setting up an 80 gallon rimless, and was just curious as to your experiences.
