I have a 2 year old Red Sea 250. I run carbon, I have a reef octopus biopellet reactor, a Red Sea protein skimmer, filter sock, and I run a UV light. My tank consist of 2 clowns, a melanarus wrasse, 2 firefish, and orchid dottyback. I have SPS, LPS, and zoa's.

Water parameters:

Alk 8.5
Calc: 400
Salinity 1.026
Nitrate 2-5
Phosphate - 0 to very low
mag: 1500

Dose: Calcium, Alk, Mag, Vibrant, and other trace elements.

I do weekly water changes, typically 10%, sometimes 20%.

Over the course of the year, you lose snails, and then you have to replenish. I was getting to the point that I needed to add to my clean up crew, I have been to the LFS 3 times, and I probably have a 10% success rate with the snails. I drip acclimate for 1 hour.

This past weekend, I purchased 5 astera, 5 cerith, 1 nassarius, and 1 mexican turbo.

The nassarious has not moved, the astraea I sprinkled on my rock, hoping they would start eating the algae, an the turbo I put on the sand bed.

the Astraea on the rock has not moved. the Mexican turbo on the sand has not moved. I put the mexican turbo up against the glass this morning and he stuck to the glass but doesn't look good. The cerith snails never moved from where I put them. Same thing happened two weeks ago, I got a smiliar mix and I'm not sure much of them made it except for maybe 2 or 3 of the astraea snails.

How are you acclimating them to the system ?
