Snails of the Bumble variety.....

Hi All - quick question,

I purchased several Bumble Bee snails with my cleanup crew during tank start up and now that I am adding coral I have noticed these snails seem to be on my Zoa's a lot, especially during the overnight/early morning times.

Is this going to be a problem? I have not seen any damage to the Zoa's yet but these snails are making me nervous.... Thoughts??

I had one or two in a 20l a while back, they didn't seem to bother any coral. That being said, I've read many consider them to not be reef safe since they'll eat the micro fauna that keeps the sand 'live'. I only saw them onthe rocks, eating leftover food and ditritus.

I have mabye 6 and I've never has a problem with them bothering my corals.

They might be doing your zoas a favor hunting down some kind of smaller zoa predator.
