i dont have a test kit for cal and alki did a 40% WC and want to do another 25% WC. hopefully that will work and i can get more soon, as of right now it is just the two blue leg hermits and a bunch of empty shells and the two snails(dead maybe). when my hermit crab sheds its shell do i need to remove it from the tank
?
Cal and ALK work off each other, and the snails and hermits need it for molting and their shells. But yes, most don't know it but its better to drip accimate your snials for a couple hours before introducing them to the tank.i dont have a test kit for cal and alk
my hermit just molted his shell so that means it should be better after the wc right?Cal and ALK work off each other, and the snails and hermits need it for molting and their shells. i meant the molted shell not the shell they live in sorry.Na, you can leave old shells in the tank, no reason to remove them, unless they get unsightly for you.
and should i remove that molted shell? will it cause other problems if i leave it?Got ya. Yea, if he molted ok, I'd say you may be in good shape. I'd still test to find out where those levels are though.
