My aquarium has been up and running for 1 month and good recent algae grown over last 2 weeks. However, I purchase 3 snails recently and they are removing what I consider too much good algae and removing good algae growth and plant growth from my live rock. How do I stop them temporarily without removing them from my tank until I need them to clean again.

What do you consider good algae growth? As far as I am concerned the only algae I want is corraline and I dont know of any snails that eat it.

What kind of a tank are you aiming for? what type of coral? Or is this a fowlr?

Not sure what type of algae, but same that is growing in my local gulf water. Aiming for a native tank. Just purchased a star pulps and Zoanthids to see what they are all about.

I would let them eat the algae. Let the water get nice and clear and let the colors really come out. Some zoas found in the South Atlantic are nice. They probably are not eating anything you will miss.

Unfortunately there is no way you can stop them from eating without removing them. I guess you could politely ask them to stop  ?
