Can anybody tell me what this guy is?
Is he good/bad to have in the aquarium?

Stomatella I am pretty sure and a good guy, harmless algae eater.

Thanks for the reply. I've also discovered a bristleworm approx 2 inches long. Heard a few horror stories about them!

Mostly internet myths and wrong ID's. The most common bristleworms we see in our tanks may inflict a burning sting, other than that they are a great part of your clean up crew. When found on dead or dying animals the worm is simply doing what it's supposed to be doing, cleaning up, the victim was already dead or close to it.

I was reading about a bristleworm stinging a clown on the mouth last night and the clown died a few days later. Is this just an unfortunate and rare occurrence?

I can show you images of my very mean clown after she tried to go a couple rounds with my 4 foot bristleworm. She had a face full of spines for about 2 days, no ill effects. The two topics that generate the most myths and misinformation in this hobby are Marine Ich and Bristleworms. The best advice I can give you as far as forum information, look at the persons tank that is giving the information, take advice from those with first hand experience on the topic.

Ok thanks for the advice. I'd like to see pictures of the skirmish if you still have them. Be interesting to look at!

Not her best look.:fencing:

Spines were gone in about 3 days.

No she was a pretty ****** clown. Here she is letting you know who's tank it is.

Here is the worm and an old watchman goby, the only fish that could stand up to the clown.
