where can I get snails that have already been quarantined? Any suggestions? Was think reefcleaners.org but not sure?

Algaebarn only sells captive bred inverts. Not QT'd but they've never been exposed to anything wild caught but they're pricey.

Are they in a fishless system? Would be a great additional mitigation.

I just received an order from LA today for my latest batch of inverts/snails. Hoping they do well in my quarantine system! I'm not sure I would risk not quarantining, even if they did come from a fishless captive bread system. I spent a lot of time and effort getting my fish, coral, and previous inverts quarantined to start loosing fish over a snail or invert.

This is a reply to an email I sent in regards to their CB Mandys

"Hi Jordan,
Thank you for contacting us, I am happy to help with this. I apologize for the delay on getting back to you!

We do not keep the mandarins with any wild captured fish or invertebrates, however, they are kept in the same system as our snails, crabs, and other inverts. The snails and inverts are not guaranteed to be pest free, but they are very likely clean. We only stock inverts that have been captive bred, so there is a very low chance of catching a pest from our fish, but it is better to try to quarantine the fish if you are worried about the possibility.

Following along.

Question. Will snails from algeabarn survive the 3 day priority shipping or do you need to do overnight?

In my experience ordering from reef cleaners, most snails survive three days - nassarius, dwarf cerith, Nerites, planaxis... but Florida ceriths DOA. Every time. And I’ve tried 5 times.

I would not buy from #reefcleaners

I emailed them asking if their snails and other inverts were kept in isolated fishless tanks. They assured me that they indeed were. Well needless to say after introducing the snails, my hippo tang began to display physical symptoms (head twitching and scratching) of ich. The white spots followed a day later.

I was able to successfully QT my fish AGAIN but lost a blue star leopard during the process.

They lost a customer and would not trust anything they post or say. The associate I was emailing and passing on incorrect information was John.

Wow sorry to hear about your bad experience with them. Most of my CC came from them in the past. I never had an issue always dealt with John sad to see this. Was thinking of getting a pack soon looks like I may have to rethink it or qt them.
