Snails

If my Trochus snails don’t seem to be actually latched onto to something tightly, does this mean they are dead or dying? If I poke at him he moves slightly but not much. I’m still quite new to all this and I don’t really know how long these guys last or how delicate snails are...

Many snails sleep/rest during lights on.... Then come to life after lights out, Some snails last a year some seem to die right away, I consider most of my clean up crew, snails and hermits as consumables .... same as lights salt food ect
