snake/hairtail blenny anyone?

so I just saw this on another site and im in love with a fish I will likely never own

just thought I would share this beauty.
gets up to about 20 inches
only found one for sale on an old thread for an LFS for $599!

but wow is it awesome

Saw one of those in a store a few years ago for $250, but it was so sickly and pale it didn't have nearly the pattern in the photos you posted.

I still cant find one for sale so no idea on the current prices but as I cant find much real info on them either I can assume its a fish we don't know much about which would make them very difficult to keep.

NYAquatics posted something about having this fish a couple weeks ago, but I don't think they ever had a price for it.

They are a type of fang blenny. A store in CT brought 3 in a few weeks ago and they put one in their show tank. The 2 that were for sale escaped within a week and the one in the show tank escaped after 2 weeks.

They took a couple of days to get eating, but were all eating mysis.

It goes without saying that they need a tight fitting lid.

I would also be sure to keep them well fed, as their closest relatives are the fang tooth blennies that mimic cleaner fish to oppurtunistically take a bite out of unsuspecting gish.

The one that had been in the show tank was a very active swimmer.

If they cost more than $200, that would be expensive.
