how loud are the sound from snapping/pistol shrimp?
For the ppl that have them in their tank, does the sound bother you?
Is it loud enough to be heard across the room? how often do they snap?

I have had one for 5 months. Only heard it snap once and it's pretty loud.

they are loud, mine snaps enough to let me know he is still alive but certainly not enough for it to be bothersome

I hear mine a few times a week and like it. It's a cool thing these little guys can do and it lets me know he still alive.

I can hear mine about from about 20 feet away. It only does it a few times a week so it is never bothersome, lets me know that it is still alive.

Lol get the picture..... you'll most likely never see him but you should here him snap from time to time.

I had a tank right by my bed at one time, I'm a semi light sleeper and it would wake me up. He would do it quite a few times at night.

They snap when they get theeated. So it depends on what livestock you have j. The tank. Mine snaps at me when I vacuum the sand near the den

Mine snaps and can be heard from another room, but he also occasionally likes to rearrange his snail shells and tap, tap, tap them against the glass bottom.
