Hello! A couple days ago I bought two orange spotted shrimp goby bonded pair that also cane with a shrimp that’s bonded. The shrimp died, so I replaced him with another one. I’m not sure if the shrimp bonded with the gobies. Although I will say the gobies didn’t mind the shrimp in their little cave territory. But my real concern is I haven’t seen the shrimp since I introduced it. So please help me out!!

A couple of questions:

1. How long have you had the tank established, and what are your parameters at?
2. What other fish and invertebrates are in the tank?

I am mostly trying to tease out why the first one died, and whether the second would have succumbed to a similar fate.

Pistol shrimp tend to be rather elusive and live in their burrows. If it is alive, it's possible it is just hanging out under the rocks. Have you tried carefully moving the rocks?

Yes I did exactly that! I moved some rocks around and sure enough I heard the loud snap sound under water and out it came. The reason the first one died was probably because of stress from shipping. I bought the original trio from liveaquaria and the shrimp was DOA.

I have a coral banded shrimp a conch and two electric hermits to go along with a mandarin fish and an algae blenny. The snapping shrimp has scared off the electrics and banded shrimp multiple times. Also, thanks for the reply and helping me out!! I really appreciate it
