Does anyone know what this white mucus like stuff is? The tank is less than a wk old. Thanks in advance!

Could be sponge. I had some cover a rock once and then disappear.

Is that live rock that you got from an LFS or another source?

Look at the base where it originates. Is it coming out of a hard tube?
If it is, then it is a vermetid snail. You want to remove it quickly as you will start to find more and they will irritate corals.

It’s live rock from my lfs. It’s already been cured.

I don’t think we have any tubes yet. It’s just floating in the tank.

Keep an eye out for them. Those mucus webs do end up floating through the tank from time to time.

Id say a piece of macro algae that has died and turned white.
